Logical Ability Questions and Solutions
How to solve the logical questions and how to crack them
Question 1: Find the odd pair of letters from the given alternatives.
(a) Dollar
(b) Rupees
(c) Pound
(d) Gram
(b) Rupees
(c) Pound
(d) Gram
Ans: (d), as the gram is the unit of mass, the remaining are currency.
Que 2. A series is given with one term missing. Choose the correct alternative from the given ones that will complete the series.

(a) 169
(b) 216
(c)289
(d) 225
(b) 216
(c)289
(d) 225
8^2,
10^2,
5^3,
11^2,
Next will be cube series
6^3 = 216
Q3: ∆ABC is inscribed in a circle with center O. If AB = 21 cm, BC = 20 cm, and AC = 29 cm, then what is the length of the circumradius of the triangle?
Solution:
29*29 = AB*AB + BC*BC = 20*20 +21*21
Hence, it is a right. -angled triangle
by a property of the right-angled triangle, if a line through the B is joined to the midpoint of the hypotenuse AC
Then BD = AD = CD (this is the circumradius).
Hence, the circumradius is BD = 29/2 = 14.5 cm
Question 4: On a 2200 m long circular track, Sarita and Kavita drove their cycles from the
same point but in opposite directions with the speeds of 20 km/hr and 16 km/hr,
respectively. After how much time will they meet again for the first time?
Solution:
Convert both the speeds into meters/sec
Sarita's speed = 20*5/18 = 100/18 = 50/9 m/s
Kavita's speed = 16 km/hr = 16*5/18 = 40/9 m/s
Let after time t, they will meet each other; then the distance covered by both is the circumference of the path
50t/9 + 40t/9 = 2200
90t/9 = 2200
t = 2200*9/90 = 220 sec
divide 220 by 60; 3 is the quotient and 40 is the remainder, so 3m 40s is the answer
Question 5: In a triangle HJK, HJ = HK. G is a point on HJ such that HG = GK = JK. What is
the degree measure of two-thirds of (∠HGK + ∠GKJ)?
Question 6: Find the simple interest (in ₹) on ₹2000 at 6.5% per annum rate of interest for
the period from 14 February 2023 to 28 April 2023
number of year = 73/365
interest = 2000*73/365*6.5/100 = 26 Rs
Question 7: Three statements are given, followed by three conclusions numbered I, II and III. Assuming the statements to be true, even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts, decide which of the conclusions logically follow(s) from the statements.
Statements:
All pages are diaries.
Some diaries are books.
All books are notebooks
Conclusions:
I. No page is a notebook.
II. All pages are notebooks.
III. All diaries being notebooks is a possibility.
a. Both conclusion I and II follow
b. Only conclusions I and III follow
c. Only conclusion III follows
d. Only conclusion II follows
According to question, all the sectors are divided in circles-
all pages are diary, so page will come inside the diary,
some diaries are book - some part of the diares will go inside the book,
all books are note books - books will go inside the notebook circle
Hence, it looks only c is correct.
